Social media promised to connect us, to build global communities and bridge distances. Yet, paradoxically, many feel it’s eroding real-world connections, replacing genuine human interaction with curated online personas and fleeting digital likes. Hours spent scrolling can lead to less time engaging in face-to-face conversations, participating in local communities, or simply being present in the moment. Are we sacrificing depth for breadth in our relationships, and what can we do to foster more authentic connections in a digitally saturated world? Do you find social media enhances or detracts from your real-world connections?
